As you may know, a federal judge in Texas ruled last week on the new Department of Labor overtime rules set to go into effect on December 1, 2016, issuing an injunction stopping the overtime laws from taking effect. The postponement will stand until the judge renders his decision on the two cases brought by business groups and some 21 states who are challenging the validity of the new rules. And of course, the federal government has the right to appeal the injunction.
