Dear Valued
Customer,
Greetings and welcome to the first
edition of the InterDyn Business Microvar Newsletter;
affectionately deemed the "Buzz". This quarterly
publication is designed to educate and enlighten you;
our valued customer and business partner and keep you
up-to-date on the latest products, trends and practices
in the fields related to the products and services
offered by InterDyn Business Microvar. The newsletter is a
new project at InterDyn Business Microvar and has
several features designed for your convenience.
The navigation bar to the right is full of links to
individual product information. Just find your
product, click and go! We
would like to take this opportunity to thank you for
your continued trust and we look forward to
developing a fruitful, long-lasting business
relationship with you and your organization!
As many of you know,
InterDyn Business Microvar has added the role of
Customer Satisfaction Manager to its support staff in an
effort to learn more about how we can serve you
better.
Part of this responsibility includes discussing
options and features for Enhancement Renewal Plans. While conducting
renewal phone calls, a client asked me one of the most
(if not the
most) important questions pertaining to renewing
their Enhancement Plan; "Why should I renew?" Her question is
to the point and strikes at the heart of almost every
business decision that involves an expense, "What's in
it for my business?" I thought that it would be a
great idea to focus the inaugural issue of the "Buzz" on
the ideas surrounding enhancement renewals. Thank
you again for your business and I look forward to
working with you and your team!
Sincerely,
Sean
Dickey

Regardless of which
Enhancement Renewal model your business has
(see the article in this issue Business Ready
versus Module-Based Licensing Models)
there are services offered by Microsoft that allow
you to maximize your investment in renewing your
license agreement. There are
several levels of Enhancement Renewal plans and
they are differentiated by the percentage amount
of your original system list price that each plan
charges as a renewal rate. They are
as follows: New
Enhancement Plan (often referred to as the Basic
Enhancement Renewal Plan) renews at 16% of
your original list price; Standard A
renews at 18%; Standard B
renews at 25% and Deluxe
varies based upon customization options chosen
within the plan. You should note that all of
the renewal plans include the following invaluable
features and services:
·
Product updates
and service packs
·

| Dynamics GP: Business Ready vs.
Module Based Licensing
Which Model is Best for Your
Business? |
|
I thought it would be beneficial
to discuss not only the different options that Microsoft
offers for their Enhancement Renewal Plans, but also the
various pros and possible cons that you should consider
before deciding which plan is the best option for your
business.
Let's start by defining the two types of models
for Enhancement Renewal Plans. The first model
is, Business Ready Licensing (BRL). Business Ready
Licensing is a pricing model that bases software license
pricing primarily on the number of users and therefore
associates the functionality and value of software with
the user.
Business Ready Licensing is the newest pricing
model and was introduced by Microsoft in July 2006. The
second type of pricing model is, Module-Based Licensing
(MBL). In
contrast to Business Ready Licensing, Module-Based
Licensing bases software license pricing primarily

It's Nice to Meet
You!
Getting to Know Your
Busines Partner
|
|
Have you ever
wondered what your helpful InterDyn Business
Microvar expert looked like as they helped you
solve that indecipherable error message that
kept flashing across the screen every time you
tried to touch a key? Well,
here's your chance! The
"It's Nice to Meet You" section of The InterDyn
Business Microvar Buzz is designed to help you
get to know who we are as people; not just
business partners. After
all, great relationships aren't built between
phones, computers or fax machines; great
relationships are forged between people.
This quarter InterDyn Business Microvar is
proud to introduce two talented Networking
Professionals. Peter Clyne is our Network
Adminstrator. Peter is a Microsoft
Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and has
experience with a wide range of server hardware
bases, MIcrosoft and Linux Operating Systems,
network design and set-up and back-up
systems. Peter began his computer studies
at South Dakota State University where he was
recruited as a baseball player. Peter
completed his studies by graduating from KRS
Computer and Business School in Minnesota.
Peter is an avid all-terrain-vehicle (ATV)
enthusiast and self-proclaimed
"gear-head". When he isn't twisting a
throttle or turning a wrench, Pete likes to
delve into the high-tech world of computer
gaming and high-definition television.
Pete says that his "gear-head" friends don't
know he's a computer guru and his computer
friends don't know he's a motor-head. I
guess half of the secret is out
now!
