The holidays are right around the corner, and that means it’s time to send out the annual holiday card to thank your clients for their business. Unfortunately, you can’t seem to find that Excel spreadsheet with all of your clients’ contact information – or locate the stack of business cards you thought you left in your desk drawer.
Today, there’s a solution to that problem: Microsoft XRM, the latest evolution of Microsoft Dynamics™ CRM software. The solution is built on the premise of “one platform, multiple applications” -- leveraging a flexible and powerful platform, and the applications sitting on that platform, to meet any and all business requirements. Microsoft XRM stretches beyond providing businesses with tools to manage relationships with customers, and instead offers “Anything Relationship Management.”
Just as no two people on a shopping list have the same holiday wish, no two businesses have identical needs. That’s where the Microsoft XRM 80/20 rule comes into play. By leveraging the Microsoft .NET framework, the solution allows 80% of business requirements to be achieved by using and integrating out of the box. The last 20% can be achieved through custom development to make the application do exactly what a business needs.
Watch this Microsoft XRM to discover just how many business applications can be managed with this solution, including asset management, supplier management and vendor management.
Arbor Day Foundation Large Nonprofit Cuts Development Time by 300 Percent Using xRM With the support of nearly one million members and partnerships with large public and private supporters, the nonprofit Arbor Day Foundation carries out its mission as the world’s largest tree-planting organization. As the Foundation expanded, leaders recognized the need to replace its aging system with a flexible solution that the IT team could customize to manage interactions with an increasingly diverse group of supporting organizations. The Arbor Day Foundation opted to take advantage of the xRM application platform layer that underpins Microsoft Dynamics® CRM to rapidly develop and deploy customized relational applications for its many conservation programs. InterDyn BMI and GoIWx team up for hosted trial of Microsoft Dynamics CRM free for 30 days
InterDyn BMI, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner who specializes in integrating and delivering all aspects of a client's business IT needs including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), e-Commerce, Systems Engineering, Business Process Consulting and Custom Application Development, recently announced a strategic partnership with GoIWX, a leader in IT hosting, Software Plus Service (S+S) and Software as a Service (SaaS). As the next step in a partner hosted offering in the SaaS model, InterDyn BMI in conjunction with GoIWx is announcing a free Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 trial for 30 days and packaged Training for Microsoft Dynamics™ CRM. InterDyn BMI will offer online, instructor led Microsoft Dynamics CRM training at packaged pricing. The training environment will provide base product functionality and will not be configured to client specifics.
GoIWx President and CEO, RJ Burgess sees this coordinated offering as a excellent opportunity to help SMB's to make the move to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 free for 30 days, while providing the opportunity to help the users get the hands-on training any organization needs to either bridge the gap from an older CRM program and get up to speed with new features of the software and at the same time, customers won't have to invest in the IT infrastructure new CRM implementations often require. "This makes the move to the SaaS model more attainable without the large CAP-X expenditures." says Brian Campbell, CRM Sales Manager. “With the CRM program we've just announced we believe customers have greater flexibility and get a better value with the GoIWx hosted model than with CRM Online. We achieve a greater level of flexibility in the installation and configuration.
InterDyn BMI is focuses on the sales, implementation and training for their clients to create comprehensive business solutions utilizing Microsoft Dynamics. There are several significant benefits to a program like this." Campbell continues, “This offer provides an option to get up and running on Microsoft Dynamics CRM at a low cost. This will allow the clients to recoup the investment with a faster uptime.”
For this joint endeavor, the training offering will be held online and instructor led. This venue allows for interactivity with the attendees and will provide training materials and lab exercises. The training package offer requires a minimum purchase of 3 user license and the installation of non customized or minimally configured Microsoft Dynamics CRM application in the GoIWx hosted environment.
Hosting can provide customers an "out of the box" solution which is low cost, with great training designed to fit their needs. Clients with more robust configuration can still get lower cost, with a quicker uptime, and spend CAPEX dollars on tailored training and realize more of an immediate gain. By going partner hosted, we can provide clients of varied needs, a higher return on investment.
In addition to CRM training, InterDyn BMI offers customization services, SQL Reporting services, installation and upgrades, advanced workflow training, and SharePoint installation and implementation.

Please note that effective June 22, 2009, in response to customer feedback and as part of Microsoft’s continuous efforts to provide world-class support for its products, the company is updating the Microsoft Support Lifecycle policy for service packs for key Microsoft Dynamics products.
Microsoft is extending the service pack support policy for Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics AX, and Microsoft Dynamics CRM to 24 months of support for a previous service pack, when a new service pack is released. Previously, when a new service pack was released for these products, Microsoft provided 12 months of support for the previous service pack.
Microsoft Dynamics CRM has been positioned in the Leaders quadrant of the Gartner Inc. CRM Customer Service Contact Centers 2009 Magic Quadrant, a research report that looks at contact center desktop software for customer service and support that is best suited for different economic situations.
“As a result of the economic slowdown, business leaders are focusing on the central role of customer service to simultaneously lower costs and build customer loyalty,” said Michael Maoz, vice president and distinguished analyst, Gartner Inc. “The loss of a profitable customer, or a potentially profitable customer, is expensive and preventable. The contact center, which integrates and synchronizes post-sales customer interactions, is the most critical flash point for the customer relationship.”
“Business leaders are being challenged to drive higher customer satisfaction and retention while their budgets are under pressure,” said Brad Wilson, general manager of Microsoft Dynamics CRM at Microsoft. “Microsoft Dynamics CRM delivers powerful customer service solutions through either on-premises or on-demand deployments, enabling more choice and flexibility for our customers and partners with a rapid time to value.”
Your company has unique needs to thrive within your industry. Microsoft has extensive experience working with organizations of all types and sizes. Together we deliver CRM solutions tailored to your industry so you have the tools and capabilities to easily create and maintain a clear picture of customers, from first contact through the entire customer life cycle.

Retail can help retailers stand out from the competition. With rich information about every customer, you can provide personalized care to build customer loyalty and increase your revenue.
NEXT STEP: I’d like to propose we engage in a discussion and solution demonstration to give a vision for how Microsoft Dynamics® CRM could help your company save money in a down economy. We have an on-demand webcast called Choosing the Right Customer Relationship Management Solution which could serve as a great foundation before a more personalized meeting. I look forward to discussing next steps.
Microsoft Corp. today announced (July 9, 2009) new CRM Accelerators for Microsoft Dynamics CRM that help organizations reduce costs and establish business insight across social networks, channel-centric organizations and Web interaction channels.
Social Networking Accelerator The Social Networking Accelerator allows business professionals to monitor and analyze customers’ conversations on social networking sites, and as a result, provides real-time status updates about their products and services. This accelerator delivers integration with Twitter; other networks will be introduced in future releases.
Partner Relationship Management (PRM) Accelerator The Partner Relationship Management (PRM) Accelerator allows businesses to use Microsoft Dynamics CRM to distribute sales leads and centrally manage sales opportunities across channel partners. It provides pre-built extensions to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM sales force automation functionality, including new data entities, workflow and reports. Using the PRM Accelerator, companies can jointly manage sales processes with their channel partners through a centralized Web portal, as well as extend this integration to automate additional business processes.
Portal Integration Accelerator The Portal Integration Accelerator easily connects Microsoft Dynamics CRM to an organization’s Web experience. With this added capability, a business analyst can use point-and-click configuration — as opposed to Web development — to rapidly extend to the Internet any business process and drive costs out of everyday business interactions.

March 19th, 2009- Microsoft Released released the latest version of Internet Explorer 8 (IE8).
1. It is fully tested and supported. NO NEED TO WORRY ABOUT COMPATIBILITY! IE8 has undergone a rigorous 12 month beta, and Dynamics CRM was one of the key "test products" for the IE team when working through their validation and tests. The IE team and CRM team worked closely together to insure that Dynamics CRM worked with IE8, and IE 8 is now an officially supported browser for Dynamics CRM 4.0.
2. Built in development tools. If you are the developer type, you probably used tools like DOMspy or the Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar to identify CRM page elements, like Nav Bar links, to use in creating javascript. With IE 8, there is no more need for these tools, as the developer tools are built into the browser (under Tools menu-->Developer Tools)
3. Color coded tabs. This is a major usability enhancement for Dynamics CRM. As any user of Dynamics CRM can attest, CRM can open many IE windows. For example, when you open up an Account, a new window is launched, then if you open an activity associated with the account, another window opens. Tabbed browsing in IE 7 helped get control of these windows by allowing users to have one IE window open with multiple tabs. However, one potential problem is that if you also have some other sites open, perhaps researching a potential customer on MSN Money, the CRM windows can get lost among all of your other sites.
IE 8 solves these problems by grouping tabs from related sites together, and color coding them, so you will never mix up your CRM tabs with your Twitter tabs.
Accelerators are a range of add-on solutions developed for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 customers. Each accelerator is available and will showcase how the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 platform can be configured and extended to broaden marketing, sales and service capabilities. Microsoft Dynamics CRM customers are encouraged to further extend these accelerators to meet their specific business needs.
Each accelerator may consist of the following:
Customizations (entities, forms, views)
Workflow defintions
Business Intelligence elements such as custom reports (.RDL’s)
Functional code samples (strictly adhering to SDK guidelines)
Documentation for installing, operating, localizing and extending the solution
An automated installer
Each accelerator will be fully supported as per any other customization for Microsoft Dynamics CRM that follows SDK guidelines. Additionally, all samples are supplied with full source-code so they can be extended further to meet specific customer requirements. Because of Microsoft Dynamics CRM’s services-based architecture and metadata-driven application capabilities, accelerators can be deployed for both on-demand and on-premise environments.Through accelerators, customers and partners benefit from new functionality on a more frequent basis, and they can be deployed to their environment quickly and easily. The list of accelerators is as follows:
Analytics
eService
Event Management
Enterprise Search
Sales Methodologies
Extended Sales Forecasting
CRM Notifications
Newsfeed Business Productivity

Powerful workflow and automation features that are designed to work with third-party systems, where large portions of customer data often resides.
Data ownership, security features, and regulatory compliance: Customer data is one of the most important assets of any business. Microsoft Dynamics CRM is designed to give customers full control over the security and physical location of their data. A common architecture and data model that supports each of these deployment modes means that the customers‟ data is not locked into any single deployment option.
Total cost of ownership: Deployment options allow customers to choose from rent and buy models, while the Microsoft platform can reduce user training and technical integration costs. Microsoft Dynamics CRM is designed to protect customers from hidden costs as all Microsoft developed CRM capabilities are included in the license price.
