We’ve launched a new partnership with Xobni, the company that develops the award-winning Microsoft Outlook plug-in that’s in use at over 8,000 businesses…including 80% of the Fortune 500.
Xobni (“Inbox” spelled backwards) revolutionizes the way people use Outlook by helping them organize and manage email and relationships in a meaningful way. Xobni’s sidebar offers powerful data for users about the people they are emailing with – including full contact information, threaded conversations, shared attachments, etc.
According to a survey of IT administrators using the product, the average user saves over 30 minutes a week through Xobni’s intelligent search and intuitive profiling products. In addition to the superior search and organization features, Xobni pulls valuable content from the web into Outlook, - including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. - to help users manage their relationships and communications with contacts better.
Xobni just introduced Xobni Enterprise, a new service that gives businesses of all sizes the ability to deploy and manage Xobni to employees and create customizable extensions to increase productivity and efficiency within the work place.
This is important to our business for several reasons… First, we’re going to use the Xobni API’s and Software Development Kit to offer custom extensions from Xobni to third party applications, including Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and websites like UPS.com and LexisNexis.com. These applications will allow sales teams, for example, to experience Xobni in a way that helps them do their jobs more efficiently; from their in-boxes, sales reps can understand their relationships within the context of campaign information from ExactTarget, website behavior from Eloqua, and forecast data from Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Second, there are thousands of businesses that are using the free version of Xobni, and we’re going to help determine and implement user and group permissions, so that each user has a customized experience. Our goal is to help users of the free version of Xobni discover the capabilities of Xobni Enterprise.
Finally, we’re offering our customers a suite of Xobni services, including customization, training and end-user support so that every business can get the most of their Xobni experience. This will help companies that are deploying Xobni to hundreds – or even thousands -- of users get the most out of Xobni in the shortest amount of time.
If you’re not using Xobni today, I’d like to invite you to get started today by downloading the free version of Xobni at www.xobni.com/download. In just a few minutes, you’ll see why everyday people are praising Xobni for turning their inbox around.
If you’d like to arrange a briefing to discuss ways in which we can help you and your company get the most of your Xobni experience, please send an email to info@interdynbmi.com and we’ll call you right away.

Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 are a match made in heaven. This Microsoft release cycle of operating systems offers extremely improved security, speed, and ease of use. The release of Windows 7 to retail has been confirmed to be on October 22nd. While the Windows Server 2008 R2 release date has not been confirmed, Microsoft has suggested it will be shortly thereafter.
Windows 7 is able to run on older hardware Unlike Windows Vista, Windows 7 has more minimal hardware requirements. With Window7 boot time is increased, as is the power and battery management. The visual improvements also improved work flow making things like document comparison a breeze.
The ability to connect to your Windows Server 2008 R2 servers without a VPN, yet just as securely, and access all of your is also a feature that will save set up and configuration time, thus reducing costs.
Another feature of Windows 7 important to customers is Windows XP compatibility. Microsoft leverages their Virtual PC technology without the VM feeling, allowing specific programs which may not be compatible with Windows 7 to run on Windows 7 due to the compatibility mode. This means customers can buy the latest release without fear of existing application compatibility.
Windows Server 2008 R2 offers many improvements over Windows Server 2003 as well as its immediate predecessor, Windows Server 2008. R2 offers Direct Access to the network from outside of the network to Windows 7 clients using their Direct Access technology which is none too difficult to setup. Branch Cache is another innovative solution in R2 which saves bandwidth across corporate VPNs and makes opening files quicker. When a branch user opens a file that is on the corporate server, their local server using Branch Cache keeps a copy of that file. Changes are uploaded to the corporate network and a local copy exists for the user. Next time the user opens that file, it takes seconds, not minutes over the VPN.
Microsoft made vast improvements in their virtualization and remote desktop services (previously terminal services) technology as well. Hyper-V, Microsoft's server virtualization technology, in R2, will allow you to on the fly, to migrate virtual servers from one host server to the next. If you want to upgrade a server's memory perhaps, you can now migrate live servers to another server, power down the server, add the memory, power it back up, and migrate virtual servers back to their normal host server. This is all done with no impact to the production environment. This is just one of the many great additional benefits to Hyper-V in R2.
Also, using VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure), you can virtualize entire desktops. Using VDI, no longer will sensitive customer data be lost when hardware is lost or stolen. All of the data exists on the virtual server within the user’s desktop. The user's laptop or desktop only acts as a mechanism to access their corporate desktop that is stored and backed up in the data center.
Remote Desktop Services (formerly known as Terminal Services) will allow administrators to publish specific applications to specific users. In the previous release, Windows Server 2008, everything published was visible to all users, and you had to lock down who could use which program within the operating system. With R2, you can publish specific apps to specific groups so only the people who need Office can see Office, and so on and so forth. For more information on Windows 2008 RC2, go to: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/r2.aspx

Minneapolis, MN - May 26, 2009 - InterDyn BMI, a Microsoft Dynamics Gold Certified Partner who specializes in integrating and delivering all aspects of a client's business IT needs, is empowering the growth of small businesses with its offering of Microsoft Dynamics GP.
When first launched, many new businesses find accounting needs confidently met by small software packages. Benefits of the most popular small business accounting software packages include affordability and the ability to create invoices and track expenses.
Microsoft Dynamics GP accounting software is designed for small businesses whose invoicing and expensing needs grow. Oftentimes, this growth requires the ability to centralize accounting data from multiple departments.
"When a new business launches, centralizing financial data such as invoices and expenses is typically the least of the challenges faced," states John Hendrickson, CEO for InterDyn BMI. "Most of this data can be easily consolidated into accounting software in use by one department. As the business grows, however, the amount of accounting data to manage grows accordingly."
The key benefit of Microsoft Dynamics GP is the ability to report on and centralize large amounts of accounting data from multiple departments. As many smaller software packages do not contain multiple departmental capabilities, reporting and data management can quickly become inefficient.
Microsoft Dynamics GP, as offered by Microsoft Dynamics Partner InterDyn BMI offers growing businesses: Data integration capabilities, automatically pulling data from each department Robust reporting capabilities, offering full visibility into each business unit Confident security features, providing the ability to comply with all regulations for securing business financial data
"When offering Microsoft Dynamics GP to our clients, we ensure they receive an affordable and easily scalable software solution," concludes Hendrickson. "We assuredly help today's small businesses integrate the accounting processes necessary to become tomorrow's successful corporations."
More information on Microsoft Dynamics GP may be found by visiting the website of Microsoft Dynamics Partner InterDyn BMI.

InterDyn BMI and GoIWx team up for hosted trial of Microsoft Dynamics CRM free for 30 days
Minneapolis, Minnesota - May 7, 2009 - InterDyn BMI, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner who specializes in integrating and delivering all aspects of a client's business IT needs including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), e-Commerce, Systems Engineering, Business Process Consulting and Custom Application Development, recently announced a strategic partnership with GoIWX, a leader in IT hosting, Software Plus Service (S+S) and Software as a Service (SaaS).
InterDyn BMI will offer online, instructor led Microsoft Dynamics CRM training at packaged pricing. The training environment will provide base product functionality and will not be configured to client specifics.
GoIWx President and CEO, RJ Burgess sees this coordinated offering as a excellent opportunity to help SMB's to make the move to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 free for 30 days, while providing the opportunity to help the users get the hands-on training any organization needs to either bridge the gap from an older CRM program and get up to speed with new features of the software and at the same time, customers won't have to invest in the IT infrastructure new CRM implementations often require. "This makes the move to the SaaS model more attainable without the large CAP-X expenditures." says Brian Campbell, CRM Sales Manager. “With the CRM program we've just announced we believe customers have greater flexibility and get a better value with the GoIWx hosted model than with CRM Online. We achieve a greater level of flexibility in the installation and configuration.
InterDyn BMI is focuses on the sales, implementation and training for their clients to create comprehensive business solutions utilizing Microsoft Dynamics. There are several significant benefits to a program like this." Campbell continues, “This offer provides an option to get up and running on Microsoft Dynamics CRM at a low cost. This will allow the clients to recoup the investment with a faster uptime.”
For this joint endeavor, the training offering will be held online and instructor led. This venue allows for interactivity with the attendees and will provide training materials and lab exercises. The training package offer requires a minimum purchase of 3 user license and the installation of non customized or minimally configured Microsoft Dynamics CRM application in the GoIWx hosted environment.
Hosting can provide customers an "out of the box" solution which is low cost, with great training designed to fit their needs. Clients with more robust configuration can still get lower cost, with a quicker uptime, and spend CAPEX dollars on tailored training and realize more of an immediate gain. By going partner hosted, we can provide clients of varied needs, a higher return on investment.
In addition to CRM training, InterDyn BMI offers customization services, SQL Reporting services, installation and upgrades, advanced workflow training, and SharePoint installation and implementation.

Compatibility issue in Microsoft Dynamics RMS after Windows XP Service Pack 3 or Windows Vista Service Pack 1 is installed (Updated 5/14/08): May Cause Data Loss
Last Modified 5/16/2008Posted 4/22/2008 Microsoft has identified a compatibility issue that occurs after Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) or Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) is installed on a Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System (RMS) computer. This compatibility issue may cause data loss in Microsoft Dynamics RMS databases.
Overview Windows XP SP3 and Windows Vista SP1 include a change to the handling of database records that include information from more than one table. For example, a supplier record in Microsoft Dynamics RMS includes information from both the Supplier and Item tables. In more technical terms, Identity field values are not reflected in record sets after installation of the service pack. This may cause data loss in Microsoft Dynamics RMS databases that may not be apparent to the user.
Details Symptoms These are some of the issues we are currently aware of that you may experience in Microsoft Dynamics RMS after you install Windows XP SP3 or Windows Vista SP1: Inability to process Headquarters worksheets Inability to create a supplier with associated items Inability to create associations with Matrix, Lot Matrix, and Assembly items Inability to add a quantity discount to an item Application crash when you try to create Lot Matrix items Application crash when you try to create a customer who has one or more shipping addresses
User Impact All Microsoft Dynamics RMS users who have installed Windows XP SP3 or Windows Vista SP1 will be affected. Note While this issue extends to Windows Server 2008, that is not a supported operating system for Microsoft Dynamics RMS.
Resolution Supported Windows Vista and Windows XP updates are now available from Microsoft that will prevent these issues from occurring. For more information about these updates and how to download them, visit the following Microsoft Web site:http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=952287
Notes: Applying this update will not fix any data damage that has occurred before applying the update If you use Windows XP you must have Windows XP SP2 or Windows XP SP3 installed on the computer before you apply the update. The Windows XP update information is located toward the bottom of the Knowledge Base article. If you use Windows Vista you must have Windows Vista SP1 installed on the computer before you apply the update.
Beginning July 1, 2008, five counties in the metropolitan area will have a one quarter of one percent sales and use tax.
You need to immediately update your Microsoft RMS software to collect these taxes if you have not done so. You can contact us for help in applying these taxes by calling 651-639-0575.

Microsoft CRM 4.0 should be hitting the shelves -- virtual or otherwise -- by year’s end. The product, aka Titan, released to manufacturing on Dec. 14.
Many observers characterize this version, formally known as Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 as the flagship offering for Microsoft's software-plus-services strategy in that the same code base underlies the on-premise, partner-hosted and Microsoft-hosted implementations.
"This is a true Software as a Service platform now and will change the way Microsoft addresses the market," said Andy Vabulas, CEO of IBIS Inc., an Atlanta-based Microsoft Gold partner. IBIS plans to host and sell on-premise installations, he said.
John Hendrickson, CEO of InterDyn Business Microvar, said this iteration will help Microsoft and its partners compete more effectively with Salesforce.com's hosted CRM product. "We like the 'live' and hosted scenarios because they give us more options to talk to customers about. I can do any of these although I expect the vast majority of customers will still opt for on-premise," Hendrickson noted.
The Microsoft-hosted option will be known by the "Live" moniker that covers the Windows Live and Office Live services offerings. While the partner-hosted and on-premise versions should be available for download by the end of this week, the Microsoft-hosted CRM version will be broadly available in the first half of next year. Early access customers have been testing out that software for some months now.
With CRM 4.0, the company hopes to prove that it can play a major role in the SaaS revolution pioneered by Salesforce.com, Webex and Google.
Microsoft's stance has been that it must deliver features and functions in the way most palatable to customers. It has remained publicly mum, however, on when and if it will launch a Microsoft-hosted ERP solution along the lines of NetSuite's service. Company executives have told partner sources in the past that Microsoft-hosted ERP will happen. Partners can already host the company's ERP lines.
